2 Corinthians 12:9 🦋

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Life is hard, and the truth is we can’t handle it by ourselves. It is too much work for broken and vulnerable creatures like us. This is simply because God created us not as independent creatures but as beings that totally depend on Him in *E-VE-RY-THING* !
Pride pushes us to almost always try to prove that we are sufficient to ourselves. That’s an illusion. We have to admit that we are weak even if it hurts our ego. Truth hurts and the truth is we are Very weak! But even though it hurts, in John 8:32, it is says that Truth sets free 🤷🏾‍♀️.
Some of us will still try to handle everything alone, and think they can make it out, but that’ll be until the pressure becomes too intense for them to hold on. No matter how hard we try, We can’t live without God. We have to surrender all to Him.
Humility is the key 🔑.
We are so weak that a single word could destroy our lives. Most of us have been through this; “*living by the compliment of people and dying by their criticism*”. With this attitude, what we were doing was just putting our lives in other people’s hands and letting them define us and tell us who we are.
Giving too much weight to people’s opinion is one of the greatest mistakes one can ever make. It is giving them the power to mold you in a shape they want… In any shape. And some people will squash you until you become a tiny nothing 🤷🏾‍♀️.
But remember this :
_Your identity is in Christ alone_ ❣️
The Bible tells us that we were bought at a price and that we should not become slaves of people (1 Corinthians 7:23, 1 Peter 1:18). Being a slave of Christ is far better, for He is tender and His yoke is easy, and His burden is light and that’s when we will find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:29). We have to surrender all to Him.
For *Surrendering*, we need to trust in what/who we choose to surrender to. God asks us to trust Him in everything; it is not easy and He knows it. Otherwise, He wouldn’t have bothered telling us 365 times in His Word to “fear not”, one time for each day of the year. For He knows how much of a mess this world can make in our minds, making us forget who He is and what He did for us, and how much our trust has been broken and misused by people.
But there is a difference between God and people. People change, God doesn’t (Hebrews 13:8). People change because they are not always sure about what they think, say or do. They always strive for the best and when we turn out to not be their best, they reject us.
God, instead, is Perfect and all His works are perfect (Matthew 5:48; Deuteronomy 32:4). He never doubts and His thoughts and plans are always perfect (Romans 8:28). He will not strive for the best ’cause He is the perfection Himself. He is a God of excellence, of supremacy! The God of accomplishment. He is never caught by surprise (Hebrews 4:13), and no circumstance can change His word or promises (Job 42:2).
The battles we fight in our lives are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6:12). How can we expect to face these battles alone? Fighting against invisible powers? We cannot overcome. This is why we have to rely on the Spirit of God who is greater than them all (1 John 4:4).
If we choose to live independently of God, what will our lives be like?
Indeed His grace is sufficient to us, it is all we need for living happily and successfully. Let’s surrender all to Him and let Him work through our weaknesses with His endless power. May Our God, Abba Father, the Creator of Everything be glorified for He is worthy of all our praises 🙏🏿. Amen.
