Discipline🥋🙏🏿

18th January 2021
You can’t have discipline if you’re not a disciple. And again, you can’t be a disciple if you don’t have a master because discipline is not about doing the same things everyday, it is about following the same path everyday. Discipline is about having a goal, a motivation. Discipline causes growth, change, transformation and renewal.
•> Discipline is worship. Disciples are worshippers. How? Because they set an image that they consider as “perfect” before themselves and engage in becoming like it.
•> Discipline is about being, not about doing. The image of perfection that a disciple is aiming to achieve is what leads him; in other words, it’s his master.
It is what determines the way he eats, how much he exercises, how long he works, how much sleep he has, his priorities and where his focus is. It determines his course of life, his choices, his preferences. It sets him apart, it determines his friends, his hobbies, the career he is pursuing and so much more.
Now the question is:
Whose image is set before your eyes? Who do you want to be like in the future? What gives you the courage to wake up every morning and do better/be a better person? Whose life inspires you to the point of provoking a desire of living the same way? What is your aspiration in life?
Who is your ROLE MODEL?
Your role model will be your master. If your role model is not God, then your role model is an idol in your life. There is no human being that has ever attained perfection if it’s not God Himself through Jesus Christ. Only Christ is perfect and in Him there is no variation or shadow of turning (James 1:17).
Only God deserves and is able to direct your path everyday and lead you in all the truth. No human being, no software, no culture, no tradition, no religion, no belief, no principle should have a word before God.
If before obeying the voice of God you first ask your mum’s point of view, you first check with the norms, first check with the society, first check with your feelings, first check with your pastor or first check with your schedule, then God is not yet The Master of your life.
As long as you don’t live your life for God, all that He asks you to do will always be a burden and an obstacle to your other responsibilities. But once God has become your Master, everything will fall into place automatically.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33 NKJV
Discipline is not about maintaining a routine on a long-term basis. Discipline is being obedient and faithful to your one Master no matter what may come. Discipline is fearing God and putting Him before anything and anyone else. Discipline is living for God with the aim of glorifying Him in everything that you do.
Choose to live your life for God and you will see the change in your everyday tasks. There is peace that comes when you say “Yes” to God. His will is our safe place; out of it is pain and disorder.
“For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”
Mark 8:36-37 NKJV
“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Matthew 10:28 NKJV
Let God be your Master 🙌🏿
God bless ✨
