Faith vs Pretending

The difference between faith and pretending is “The Truth”
•> Faith doesn’t deny a problem. It faces the problem boldly knowing it won’t last/prevail. Faith is boldness and victory over the world and over the reality of things we see, hear or face.
It is the courage to stand before a situation, a giant, a mountain knowing that you’re not standing alone. Faith is seeing a problem, admitting its presence with assurance that it is just temporary. Faith is accepting the reality without being influenced by it (2 Corinthians 5:7).
•> Pretending is covering a problem and faking it as if all is going well. Pretending is the fear of the reality. It is an auto-protection mechanism, it is building fortresses around oneself for not being/seeming vulnerable. Pretending is wearing a mask for hiding your scars, your tears, your fears, your shame.
Pretending is hiding for not having to fight a battle that has already started. Pretending is refusing to put on your armor, with the excuse that there is no war despite of the cries you hear outside. Pretending is refusing to tackle a problem, with the excuse that it is too small for having your attention.
Faith is based on The Truth, the truth of God’s Word over the reality of this world. It is acceptance of The Supreme Truth over what we see (Hebrews 11:1). It is knowing that what God says is true, hence overcoming the world’s visible lies with God’s invisible truth, with the assurance that in due time, it will be manifested.
A friend once told me “Demons are real, but God is realer.”
Faith is knowing that God is realer than whatever thing is real today. Faith is knowing that no situation, no beauty, no degree, no title, no power, nobody outweighs The Word that God has spoken over your life.
Pretending is denying the truth by the use of a lie that comforts you. It is living in a double lie. It is fighting a lie with another, which is impossible since no kingdom divided against itself can stand. Read carefully this biblical passage 👇🏿:
“And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled. But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”[…] But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub. […] And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you.”

We can’t cast out demons by the ruler of demons. We can’t fight a lie with another lie. On the contrary, instead of fighting it, we would be sinking more deeply since demons support each other. A lie won’t save you from another lie, it will instead immerse you deeper in the first lie.
We shouldn’t use lies to comfort ourselves from the reality that we see in the world. The world is full of lies, adding one on top of them won’t solve the problem. We should instead use The Truth, God’s Word to overcome all that.
Faith is basing your trust on God, on His Word and Heart, and facing any situation with confidence. Remove your mask, and put on your armor. You’re more than a conqueror 🛡⚔️!
