INTRODUCTION

We get wounded under the influence of a violent impact we accept/receive. A simple illustration is if someone throws at you a basketball and you take it in the face instead of catching it with your hands, you’ll be hurt and probably get angry with the person.

What I mean by here is that “we” are responsible for our wounds. Unlike physically, we are perfectly able; by The Holy Spirit; to prevent our souls from being disfigured by a violent impact.

🍀 We can’t avoid pain, but we can avoid wounds. Chosen de Yeshoua

Pain becomes a wound once it settles, and this settlement process can’t take place without our approval. If you’re wounded today, then I’m sorry to say this like that but it’s your fault. It’s because someway somehow you have accepted it/allowed the impact to impact you negatively.

But no worries, God can still fix things.

We’re going to see together how to put back things in order when we are wounded.

How to heal?

STEPS FOR HEALING

“Byose ni mu mutwe” (It all happens in the mind). It’s not by accident that God gave us the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). He knew we needed it ’cause many things we battle with are simply lies from the devil or partial truth.

• John 8:32; 10:10

The cure to wounds is the truth, aka JESUS CHRIST. The way and the life. And from here, I jump to my first point which is:

1.> Quit denial

We live in a miserable world, to be honest. The world is defiled by the simple presence of the devil. This is enough for each one of us to be at risk of getting wounded.

We all have a past. We all have been through something hard. We have all experienced hard times, in one way or another, and as it’s said “that’s life”. That’s the reality of life but it’s not the truth.

Living in a corrupt world has made us familiar with evil yet that’s not how things should be. You’ll hear people normalize evil but when it comes to good, it is “surprising”, “unexpected”, “interested” or simply “it won’t last”.

One thing you have to know for healing is that “EVIL IS NOT NORMAL”. When God made the earth and everything that is in it, He saw that everything was very good, says The Bible in Genesis 1:31. Evil wasn’t part of the plan, and nothing in this world has ever been created for destruction or shaped for receiving negative impact. How much more is your heart? That’s why Christ came to save us.

Repeat after me: EVIL IS NOT NORMAL.

After understanding this, you have to set the truth as the base of your life. And this is where many of us find ourselves in a phase of denial. We tend to say “It’s okay”, “I understand”, “No, that’s fine… I mean, it’s life”, “nothing much”, “don’t take it personally, it didn’t mean anything”, “we all go through that”, etc.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is that those things are the ones going through us, instead of us going through them.

• Isaiah 43:2-3

• John 16:33

• Daniel 3:27

God indeed tells us that we will go through tough times but He says again that He has overcome, and that those things will not consume us. If we take the example of Shadrach, Meshach & Abed-Nego, Daniel’s friends, do you see anywhere in The Bible where they say that they got wounded when thrown in the fire? Even the smell was not on them! Hallelujah!

Now tell me, why are you wounded?

You have to refuse evil. You have to hate your state. You have to stop normalising the pain and understand you were made for joy, peace, blessings, happiness etc. You have to reject those feelings (by this I mean, you have to refuse to be a victim for life, refuse to receive and keep it).

There is a difference between feeling bad (cause we have hearts, and life is full of events that bring us up or down) and being wounded. A wounded person is irritated. A wounded person is defensive. A wounded person is “dangerous” to his/her environment. A wounded person can be aggressive, nasty, a hypocrite and so much more.

Admit you’re not in a normal state. Admit you are under attack, admit there are strangers in your soul that need to quit. Admit there is a lie that settled on the inside, admit there is a virus that penetrated your system and stops normalising the presence of wounds in your life.

2.> Understand the gravity of your wound

Everyone on earth has wounds or has once been wounded. We all hurt but in different ways. As in medicine, for the soul, we can classify wounds as major or minor injuries.

Major injuries of the soul are often qualified as those caused by the impact that touches family backgrounds, origins/roots in other words.

For example:

🌺Rejection from family

~> eg. David (1 Samuel 16:4-11)

~> eg. Jephthah (Judges 11:1-3)

🌺Treason from family

~> eg. Joseph (Genesis 37:18-20, 23-28)

🌺Ethnical/Racial Injustice

~> eg. Jonah (Read the book of Jonah)

🌺Treason from your spouse, loss of a parent/brother/close friend/spouse, Etc.

Minor injuries are the things that result from what we face daily, on a normal day (curses, judgement, rejection, gossip, etc. from society in general). They also have an impact but not as much as major injuries. Sometimes, minor injuries impact us more because we already have major injuries.

So, it’s good to know where you’re standing and what’s the source of your wounds.

3.> Identify the treatment for your wound

Some wounds require surgery and extraction of a foreign body, some need to be cleaned with alcohol, some need to be plastered, some need to be bandaged etc.

In the soul as well, some wounds require a good ear that listens to you, some need encouragement, some need justice, and some need serious & total “spiritual” deliverance and so on.

The treatment of your wound will be revealed to you in the secret place, in other words, in the office of your Doctor. Consult Him, ask Him how infected you are, how long you can stand with that wound, how urgent is the situation, ask Him if the wound is deadly or not, if it’s a tumour/cancer, if it’s a fracture etc. Let Doctor Jesus give you the diagnosis and prescribe you the proper treatment.

🔑Key Point: Treat minor wounds the fastest possible. Whatever it is, even if it’s super stupid, don’t neglect anything. Our souls are precious, they’ve been bought at a high price by the blood of God; let’s not accept to be defiled by even one thought, however minor it is.

Some wounds can heal instantly but if not taken care of/treated immediately, they can get infected and sometimes, turn into tumours. Don’t let them pile up.

• Psalm 139:23

Let God speak to you and be open to His Word. It might be hard to hear and accept but just as it’s hard to accept that we have been diagnosed with cancer, so is it with our souls' wounds (trauma for example). God is able to heal you, so whatever the diagnosis, you’re in Good Hands. Do not fear, it is possible and easy for Him. Trust the process.

4.> Undergo the treatment

Humility & Obedience are the keys to healing. Surrender is the key to rest. Rebellion, anger, fear & pride will only delay things.

• Isaiah 30:15-18, 65:2-5

• Revelation 3:16-20

• James 4:7

Humbling yourself under The Mighty Hand of God is the wisest and safest move you can make when you got revealed of any wound in your life, be it major or minor. This requires trust & it’s a process. It requires working on your intimacy with God. Let Him build your faith and trust that He is in control.

• Matthew 11:28-29

God’s will is your refuge. That’s where the devil can’t touch, can’t reach, can’t shake you. It is like the ICU at the Hospital. There, you receive all the attention and treatment you need for the restoration and regeneration of your soul. But you need to stay there.

How to stay healthy?

Interesting point, isn’t it?

It is good to be healed but since we walk in a defiled world, we are more likely to get hurt again. We are soldiers, we wrestle and it is very normal to get injured during battle. The enemy never stops shooting out arrows at us but the good news is that God gave us all the weapons we needed.

• Ephesians 6:11-17

• Proverbs 4:23

Don’t allow the enemy in once again, you are the guardian of your heart. Stop being victims, stand firm and be aggressive, for the kingdom of God is for the violent.

IN CONCLUSION:

• Romans 12:1-3

Consecration is your health.

Amen.
