Lukewarm ❄️🔥

“When God asks you to do something, He expects you to do it, not to fail at doing it.”
God doesn’t eagerly wait for us to sin so as to punish us as many of us may think. He wants us to do the right thing and He is always ready to help us through His Holy Spirit.
God knows that we do not know how to please Him, that’s why He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins (John 3:16) and gave us His Holy Spirit for helping us do His Will (Zechariah 4:6).
God wants us to do the right thing, He wants us to be His friends. He wants us to be happy when we walk with Him. He doesn’t want us to feel compelled or forced like we have no choice.
The Holy Spirit is our Helper (John 14:26). Many of us consider God as a supervisor yet He is a Teacher. He teaches us to do His will. He tests us to *correct* our mistakes and shapes us into what He wants us to be. He doesn’t spot our mistakes for rejecting us and pushing us away from Him.
He Himself made a way to reach out to us, why would He now complicate things for losing us again? That wouldn’t make sense. God willingly and wholeheartedly offers His help to all who wait upon Him. He is Gracious.
God knows we are weak, He knows we are human. He knows we have a flesh that fights us, a constant enemy that never gives up (the devil), that keeps trying to make us fall. He knows the world is not on our side, He knows the things we endure here on earth are not easy. God knows all that. But some of us don’t know that He knows. He knows. God knows.
God understands us, He is compassionate. He knows our weaknesses and He even says that His power is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). He copes to our inability. All that God wants is to fulfill us. He wants to fill in the voids in our lives and hearts. He wants to be our strength when we are weak. He wants to complete us.
But we often do not let Him do. We often want to do everything by ourselves to prove whatever we want to prove and impress Him. God is not impressed ’cause there is nothing that He did not create, nothing that He does not already know and again nothing that happens that He Himself did not allow.
He just wants to help us but we are too proud to take His hand.
Our behaviour indirectly means that we want to live by the law even though we are thankful to God for His Grace. It’s a double-minded attitude that doesn’t please God. We are being lukewarm by acting that way. That’s why many of us are stuck in condemnation cycles.
““I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.”
Revelation 3:15-19 NKJV
God wants us to repent from such an attitude and instead lean completely on Him, on His Grace, on His Spirit for showing us the way we can please Him. He wants us to know we are poor, that gold, garments and riches are with Him, that He is willing to give them to us for us to cloth our nakedness and shame.
“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”
Romans 8:2-4 NKJV
We no longer live under the law because of the Marvelous Grace of God towards us. We now live by the Spirit and the Spirit leads us in all truth, in the will of God, in His Word and He is the One that glorifies God in us (John 16:13-14). And this is acquired by faith, not by works. In faith, there are also works, those that God had prepared for us in advance in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:10). But works without faith is religion.
We ought to let God love us and show us the way to take in order to do His Will and please Him. God is our Father.
