Repentance, the way to Holiness.

“…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
>> Romans 10:9-10 <<
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
>> 2 Corinthians 5:17 <<
Repentance is a transition in nature. From the old to the new. From the wicked to the saint. From the flesh to the Spirit. From the human nature to the Godly nature. Amen 🙌🏿😄
God, Yahweh, HATES sin. He repels with sin. He destroys it.
“But the men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the LORD… Then the LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens.”
>> Genesis 13:13; 19:24 <<
God cannot bear with sin because He is Holy. God is HOLY. He cannot dwell in sinful places.
“For My people are foolish, They have not known Me. They are silly children, And they have no understanding. They are wise to do evil, But to do good they have no knowledge.”
>> Jeremiah 4:22 <<
“Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; for I will not go up in your midst, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.”
>> Exodus 33:3 <<
“Thus you shall separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness, lest they die in their uncleanness when they defile My tabernacle that is among them.”
>> Leviticus 15:31 <<
Repentance is the manifestation of the desire of living a Holy life, of no longer having to do anything with sin, of wanting to definitely get rid of it. Repentance is turning your back and giving up on sin for living a Holy life. Repentance shows that we no longer delight in sin, that we find it disgusting, that we are done with it, that it makes no more sense, that sinning is opposite to our desires and to the life we want to live.
We were made in the image of God. When we repent truly, we manifest God’s image or nature in us, as it reveals that we do not want to abide in sin anymore, just as God cannot abide in it. Repenting is realising who we are or, let’s say, retrieving our genuine selves. It is recovering our true identity.
Man was made to worship God [Isaiah 43:7; Psalm 100:3] Repentance is an expression of hatred towards sin. Hating sin/evil is Fearing God [Proverbs 8:13]. Fearing God is worshipping Him.
Thus repenting, coming back to God, is entering fully in our calling, in our purpose; Worshipping God ❤️.
But sometimes it happens that we fail, that we disobey, fall in the same trap, the same habits, the same sins yet we repented. Why is that?
This is simply because :
With a Godly nature, for being able to do Godly things, we need Godly power. We cannot do the will of God with human strength because that human power doesn’t match with our new nature. This is why God gave us His Precious Holy Spirit to enable us to walk according to His Holiness (His nature).
Trying to please God in your own abilities/strength will lead you to Tarshish when God wants you in Nineveh. In his own power, Jonah couldn’t go where God wanted him to go because of his human nature (feelings, desires, will, strength, flesh, pride). So are we enable to do what God wants us to do [Romans 8:7], for the flesh and the Spirit are contrary [Galatians 5:16].
All this means that, for being able to do the will of God, one has to put away his/her strength, humble him/herself and let the power of God work in him/her because for doing “Godly things”, we need “Godly power”. We have to let everything be new and not rely on our old human strength for accomplishing God’s plan.
For living a Holy life, we have to forget about our will. Forget about our nature, forget about our desires, forget about our “ways”, forget about our “experience” and “expertise”, forget about “what others say”. I would even say forget about “ourselves” and focus mainly on Jesus Christ, Our master. We have to let His power guide us in the right way. All He needs is our “Yes”. Let’s surrender our lives and will to the Master of all Ages.
🌸Short note to oneself :
I shouldn’t condemn myself when I fail, and focus on my sins, mistakes or weaknesses. Rather I should focus on the Godly nature, the Holy Spirit that is within me that gives me ability to fulfill God’s will. All I have to do is lay my heart before the Lord and say “Yes” to His will. As long as I’m willing to obey, God by His power will enable me to overcome sin.
There is a change happening in me. Today’s failures will be tomorrow’s victories🥇. I am transformed from glory to glory, more and more conformed to the image of Christ, living the Holy life [Romans 8:29].
I am not a sinner. I was a sinner, Jesus saved me and washed me in His blood. Now I am Holy as God is 💘 I am a Saint of God [Ephesians 2:19].
Repentance leads to Holiness.
